Special Issue on STEM and Online Teaching Strategies for All Students
Journal of Mathematics Education
The Journal of Mathematics Education (JME) is pleased to announce its special issue on STEM and online teaching strategies for all students, which will be published in June 2022.
The broad focus for this special issue is research in STEM and online teaching strategies to support all students’ mathematics learning in a meaningful and connected way. Papers should report on research studies or projects that address challenges and solutions in mathematics education with a focus on one of the following three areas:
- Teacher education practices – includes, but not restricted to, any of the following:
- Innovative STEM and/or online approaches to support prospective teachers’ learning
- Innovative STEM and/or online approaches to support classroom teachers’ practice
- Equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies in STEM and/or online teacher education courses
- Online teaching strategies – includes, but not restricted to, any of the following
- Effective online instructional approaches
- Effective online learning activities
- Effective online assessment approaches
- Equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies in online teaching
- STEM integration – includes, but not restricted to, any of the following
- STEM activities in teaching mathematics
- STEM activities to assess mathematics learning
- Equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives in STEM education
- Assessment of STEM literacy, identity, and interest in online and blended learning environments
We invite papers of 4,000-5,000 words in length for the special issue. The deadline for submission is August 30, 2021. Interested contributors are invited to submit full papers to the Editors for this special issue, Dr. Kim Koh (khkoh@ucalgary.ca) and Dr. Olive Chapman (chapman@ucalgary.ca).
